A key milestone has been reached in the design and construction of the new warehouse and packing hall for AstraZeneca in Macclesfield. 

Following the successful completion of works at high bay and low bay warehouse, we have now commenced the packing hall phase of the project.

The packing hall at over 7,500m2 will make provision for 14no grade D primary packing rooms with common secondary accommodation.

Work has started with the demolition of existing warehouse racking and facilities followed by careful cutting and removal of the existing slab, all carefully managed to avoid disruption to ‘Business as Usual’ in neighboring facilities.

This work is in preparation for the installation of new foundations and slab to accept a mezzanine steel framed plant deck which will allow installation of HVAC plant and service modules before the end of 2018. 

Having had a sharp focus on planning and design it is fantastic to see these elements combining in the construction phase of this highly specified facility, which is due to complete in Quarter 3, 2019.
