Over the last three years, our project has been used as a benchmark for AstraZeneca's Global engineering projects around the globe based on our impressive culture and SHE statistics along with all other delivery aspects. AstraZeneca are therefore keen to trial new initiatives on our project to test their effectiveness and practicalities of implementation.
Our new client is a world leading biopharmaceutical group committed to developing and producing medications used in oncology, endocrinology and neuromuscular disorders. Their UK's biologics centre of excellence, dedicated to the manufacturing and global supply of one of their key products, had a requirement to develop a solution for a bespoke cold room around three automated vertical storage units located in the existing packing and storage facility.
As part of our campaign 'Meet BES Design Team', we'd like to introduce Neil Pulman, our Principal Architect. Neil guides our multidisciplinary design teams and clients to ensure effective design of large scale, complex projects with a focus on satisfying client requirements beyond regulatory compliance, to create effective buildings. Neil's work is mainly centred around the feasibility and concept stages of design with an emphasis on site and master planning, and building organization. His experience allows him to break down clients complex requirements in to simple components to provide eloquent solutions that become easy to construct. We had a great evening at the Rochdale Business Awards on Friday night! The annual event is organised and sponsored by the local business community and this year it took place on 9 November 2018 at the beautiful Rochdale Town Hall. We were delighted to be shortlisted in the category of 'Employee of the year', and although we were not fortunate enough to win, it was fantastic to see and support so many competitive and thriving businesses from Rochdale Borough.

Marcus leads a multidisciplinary design team from appointment to completion of a project, and is responsible for the designs technical and commercial success. Guiding the design team to produce a coordinated design solution with due regard to both design and construction programmes and budgetary requirements, he provides technical expertise and innovation through all stages of the project including Concept, Basic and Detailed design and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. In delivering projects for major Blue Chip Clients Marcus has been praised for his innovative approach and attention to detail. A key milestone has been reached in the design and construction of the new warehouse and packing hall for AstraZeneca in Macclesfield. Following the successful completion of works at high bay and low bay warehouse, we have now commenced the packing pall phase of the project. The packing hall at over 7,500m2 will make provision for 14no grade D primary packing rooms with common secondary accommodation.
