'Stop the Drop' Initiative

Over the last three years, our project has been used as a benchmark for AstraZeneca's Global engineering projects around the globe based on our impressive culture and SHE statistics along with all other delivery aspects. AstraZeneca are therefore keen to trial new initiatives on our project to test their effectiveness and practicalities of implementation.
‘Stop the drop’ is a recognition that working at height not only presents the greatest risk to those carrying out the task, but also to those at lower levels who may be affected if tools or materials were to fall.
This initiative focussed on three key areas:
- Segregation of working areas (establishing a ‘drop zone’).
- Tool tethering
- MEWP basket management.
