Full design service for the remodelling of an existing building to form a new High Hazard Tablet Facility, comprising Granulation, Milling, Fluid Bed Drying and Compression Suites.
The biggest challenge faced by our designers was to recreate space for the new High Hazard Containment Facility within the existing building constraints, in particular the tight ceiling spaces and service zones. The design solution also had to consider that the building would be in use during future construction works and it was critical to minimise disruption to the manufacturing process.
The layout was developed from first principles, in consultation with the end users.
The design solution included structural, architectural, HVAC, mechanical, electrical and process services for both the cleanrooms and the associated office areas. Existing building constraints were overcome with innovative services distribution and 3D modelling. The facility maintenance was carefully considered with the FM team. Strategic planning and close coordination with the client ensured minimal disruption to site operations.
