The turnkey refurbishment of an existing five storey building to form a new solid dose and complex pharmaceutical facility comprising modern laboratories, cGMP Grade D cleanrooms, potent dispensary together with circulation and ancillary areas.
BES was tasked with remodelling current spaces to provide the technical capability and capacity needed for small and medium scale potent solid dose, continuous granulation and laboratories. As the existing 20-year old building allowed in little natural light, our designers had to develop a solution which provided sufficient natural light into working areas. The client also required a bespoke design solution to accommodate complex state of the art equipment.
BES effectively developed outline layouts with the user teams during concept stage, and these ideas were then translated into a fully coordinated solution during detailed design. To improve visibility and provide more natural light, glass panels and high bay glass doors were integrated. Rooms were constructed using stud and board with a hygienic paint finish together with metal pan ceilings and vinyl floors. Purpose built 5 metre long Powder Booths were installed within the laboratory to accommodate complex process equipment with safe change filtration provided to the associated extract systems. With all site operations carefully controlled by our experienced Construction Managers and Supervisors, the installation was delivered 2 months ahead of schedule.
