Providing a full design service from initial concept through to final detailed design for a leading Biopharmaceutical CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organisation), we developed an innovative layout within the existing footprint to house new potent molecular manufacturing processes.
As a CDMO our client required a flexible design solution to allow the space to be reconfigured quickly to suit potential changing needs in the fast moving and highly regulated industry. The challenge was to develop an innovative layout within the existing footprint to house new production processes and significantly improve people and material flows.
We worked closely with the end users to upgrade and modify the existing small scale manufacturing process to house new upstream and downstream areas for commercial production of a potent molecule. During the process we improved process flows by introducing a new central change area and unidirectional flow in line with MHRA guidelines. Our in-house design team utilised the latest 3D software to model the whole facility, enabling our client to fully visualize the cleanrooms spaces and to gain a full perspective on finishes and location of services.
