Complex refurbishment of an existing tablet manufacturing facility on a full turnkey basis. Working closely with end users, BES carried out the full design, construction and validation to transform a 25-year old building into a modern production plant.
Our client required the 25-year old building to be remodelled into a hi-tech fully compliant facility within very limited timescales. Due to the product demand, the facility shut down was limited to 20 weeks. This necessitated careful planning and extensive pre shut down works. All construction activities had to be carried out whilst maintaining BAU in the fully operational facility.
To ensure the construction works were carried out within the finite time frame, extensive planning and preparation works were required, including construction of a ‘Mock-Up’ room, which was used to evaluate construction sequences and timings, along with material standards. Prior to the main shutdown, a 12 week period was utilised to complete unobtrusive works within plantrooms and voids, ensuring minimal disruption to the fully operational facility. Our designers successfully remodelled an old building providing a new facility with an additional ten-year lifespan.
